Lacey Wood and Wonder is Sabina Lacey: one self-taught woodworker, working by hand from her shed in Mariefred.

It started when she was a little girl. The smell of fresh-cut wood, the weight of it in her hands, the way no two pieces are ever the same. Woodwork was her favourite lesson at school, and the one thing that always made sense.

For years it stayed in the background — a shelf here, a repainted drawer there, second-hand furniture carried home and quietly transformed. Then came a new house, a husband who told her to dream bigger, and a little boy who deserved a room full of wonder. One project led to the next. A kitchen. A child's bedroom. A bookcase that made people stop and stare. Friends started asking, and her hands grew surer with every build. Word spread, and Lacey Wood and Wonder grew out of it.

She's never liked seeing good wood go to waste, so much of what she makes begins as something else — timber rescued from second-hand shops, leftover offcuts, broken furniture saved from the skip. A tired old cabinet becomes the makings of something new, built to be kept and loved for years.

Every piece is designed in conversation with you and built entirely by hand. No catalogues, no off-the-shelf shortcuts — just one maker, her tools, and a real love of building something you won't find anywhere else.
